Halogen headlights are available as a
direct replacement for standard Mini 7" headlights. They offer
increased visibility and are very easy to fit.
How To Fit
1. Disconnect the battery before starting. Remove the screw
from the bottom of the outer headlight rim and pull the rim
free.
2. The existing headlight is held in place by an inner ring.
Remove the 3 retaining screws for the inner ring and the
headlight will come free. Disconnect the electrical connections
for the main beam and side light.
3. Change the connectors on the two sidelight wires to spade
connectors. These connectors are not supplied but are readily
available from any car accessory shop.
4. Unpack one of the new halogen headlights and remove the
blanking piece from the rear. Fit the halogen bulb where the
blanking piece was and replace the metal catch to hold the bulb
in place. Take care not to touch the glass of the halogen bulb
otherwise it may blow when you turn it on.
5. Present the new headlight to the car and attach the
electrical connections to the halogen bulb and the sidelight
bulb. Ensure the supplied rubber cover is fitted to protect the
halogen connections.
6. Push the new headlight into the headlight bowl and
replace the inner rim to hold the headlight in place. Finally
replace the outer rim.
7. Repeat for the other headlight, reconnect the battery and
let there be light!!
